Ag Econ Professor's Exchange

Ag Econ Professor's Exchange was developed to promote intellectual sharing between Agricultural Economics professors. Professors must register and be approved by the administrators prior to accessing or adding any content to the site. Once approved, professors can view and download simulations, tests, teaching aids, and so on that have been posted by other professors. This site extends the use of web-based technology to promote professional development with the discipline.

The departmental site has seen recent cosmetic changes, but the data structure controlling the site was originally developed by our staff. The features included on this site provide students, faculty, and administrative staff with the information and resources necessary to excel in their field. The example of My Ag Econ, listed below, is one of the features that we developed.


Advanced HAZMAT Life Support

The reverification exam for the AHLS program is going on-line. There is an eCommerce component that allows participants to register, pay for, and complete the reverification exam for the AHLS program.


Electronic Logic Modeling Module

This Flash application has been developed for Educational Testing Services (ETS) as a development tool for program planning and evaluation. The application allows users to interact with a visual representation of a program design.

This is a portal used by students, faculty and staff in Agricultural Economics at Purdue University to enhance departmental communication and provide a centralized login system for administrative needs and the department's course management system (CMme, listed below). The portal provides announcements, links to courses, personal links, a calendar of events, and so on.

CMme is a customized course management system created for the Agricultural Economics department at Purdue University. The system allows faculty to quick and easily maintain a course website. Faculty can modify announcements, upload course materials, and maintain on-line grade books through a web interface. Research has suggested both students and faculty find this system easier and more useful than WebCT (Mooney, in process).

Each aspect of the system was tailored to the needs of the department and offered a large variation in flexibility. As shown to the left, factually could upload a number of different types of materials. Each course worked from the same template which aided students in their use of the system.

Additionally, CMme works across all modern browsers and platforms and meets the latest accessibility requirements.
